Poker Night

Tonight our friend Jimmy hosted a Poker Party. Charlie always jumps at the chance to play poker. It was also a great opportunity for our friends to meet Sofia.

I Love Visitors!!!

The last couple of weeks have been super busy!! We get visitors everyday to love up Sofia. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to come by. Thank you for all the presents! (This girl is spoiled!) Thank you for the homemade dinners. You all made our transition into parenthood extremely easy!! We wanted to take a picture of all of her visitors, but there were just so many. I apologize if we didn't get a photo with you and the baby!!

My First Bath

Tonight Charlie and I decided to give Sofia her first bath. The hospital gave us a little bowl to use. We decided to bathe her by the fire, so she stays warm and toasty! We were nervous to say the least. She is just so tiny!
The bath started out okay. Just a little squeaking here and there...
Then came the full blown cry...(Notice the peach fuzz on the arm)
All done...Much better!!
I think someone is ready for bed...Nighty Nite!!

Sofia Comes Home...

Today is a BIG day!! Sofia gets to come home. We are super excited!! We had to pass a couple of "Parenting Tests" before she would be released to us. Charlie and I arrived at the hospital pumped and ready to get an A+!

First test, we had to feed and burp her...look how little her bottle is...Crazy! Second test, we had to change her diaper...(No picture necessary) you get the idea...And the third and final test was a CPR video...Scary! We passed with flying colors!!

I think she even slept through the entire thing!

After 5 days in the NICU it is finally time to head home...We couldn't be happier!

Aww...we made it home safely! I was surprised we even made it home at all, with my husband going 15 miles an hour on the freeway!! But then again how could he not with this precious cargo?...

Sofia Has Arrived...

Here is the final picture of my belly. It was taken two days before my water broke. On December 30th, I was admitted to Kaiser. They told me to get comfortable because I would be staying there until Sofia was born. On January 1st at 4:00 am they decided to induce me. Let the good times roll!!!

I can't believe I'm posting this picture!! Who looks good during labor anyway right?? This is me not happy. I'll admit, I had a few meltdowns, said a few choice words...And if the nurse said one more time..."Now you know why they call it labor..." I was going to kick her!! On January 2nd at 4:24 am (For those of you that don't do the math, that's 24 hours and 24 minutes of labor) Sofia Autumn arrived!! She was 5 weeks early weighing in at 5lbs. 6oz. We couldn't believe she was 18 1/2 inches long (She doesn't get that from her mother or father). Unfortunately since she was early she had to take a trip to the NICU!

All of the doctors and nurses in the NICU were amazing. They kept us well informed and more importantly, gave Sofia lots of love!!

The only problem Sofia had was digesting her food. Unfortunately, this meant she had to have a feeding tube for 2 days. It was a little hard for mommy and daddy, but Sofia didn't mind at all!

The nurses were so wonderful, they let us visit anytime day or night! For the next five days, Charlie and I lived there.

I don't know how Charlie did it. He was already back to work. There were nights we didn't get home until 1 in the morning! But I don't think Charlie minded one bit!!
